Nancy, after just one dinner with me, has identified a horrifying, unforgivable eating tic: apparently I close my eyes when I chew something really delicious? In my defense, we were at Fatty Crab and a lot of stuff was amazing, especially the fatty duck (above) and the Chinese broccoli with salted fish and the pork buns (although I’m getting rapidly spoiled by/suspicious of the number of places that make an unbelievable pork bun).
I’m going to work on it, Scotch-taping my eyelids open if necessary. Anyway, important: if you go to Fatty Crab, see if they will sell you just the shot of spicy pickle juice that is normally the middle of the “recession special” (whiskey + pickle juice back + PBR tallboy) and pair it with a Porkslap or something instead. It’s the tastiest thing on the menu.
